I am using Red Hat 7.2. With the Konqueror web browser, the site washingtonpost.com is partially not working.

On the front page of that site, there is a main picture. This main picture randomly alternates each time you refresh the page. The idea is that they provide a set of pictures, and the frame will rotate between that set for each time the page is accessed.

Well, on my Windows box, using IE, this works fine. However, on my Linux box, the frame is blank white with a broken picture link displayed in the frame.

Do you guys know what the issue is here?

most probably something wrong on their end. If their web page isn't compliant with the standards that konqueror follows then you often get these weird things happening. Either that or its a bug in konqueror.

or maybe you have pictures turned off (which is unlikely since you would of noticed other pictures missing).

You could write to their webmaster and tell him/her about it or try a different browser such as mozilla or opera.
