Hi,
I'm trying to develop a simple GUI using Kommander. I've read the Kommander crash course available, but couldn't understand a few simple things:
1. What do I do when I want several windows to communicate with each other? I mean, clicking a button on one window should bring the second window. How do I make it happen?
2. A stupid question - it says that I should use the Kommander Text editor in order to add functionality to the widgets I place on the form and simply write a regular script that does what I want. I couldn't make it work - for example, I want a button that once clicked opens a file. How do I do it?
3. How can I run the application not from the Kommander? That is, I would like to create an icon that runs the application. I think it's impossible, but maybe I'm wrong...

Hi, I just came across your thread after it appeared in the 'similar threads' to one I posted. I don't know if this is still useful to you but:

1. To open another kommander form by clicking a button you need the code
@dialog(./File.kmdr)
2. Make a button, right click, select 'edit kommander text'. Remember Kommander can accept several scripting languages including python and BASH commands (the latter you may need to use @exec(command) for)
3. I did this with a button with a pixmap icon suitable for that particular app and a link to the executable e.g. /usr/games/blackjack
