Well...here goes nothing! I didn't back-up my old files....Thus, I'll be re-installing if this fails. No biggie....It's a learning experience. Besides, I didn't particularly like how I installed it last time.

Any standard way to fix Unresolved Symbols problems? I swept the problem under a rug by compiling the problematic modules into the kernel, but it doesn't solve everything.
Also, when I'm running xconfig, I get such error messages in the terminal:
arch/i386/defconfig:114: trying to assign nonexistent symbol ACPI_HT
arch/i386/defconfig:176: trying to assign nonexistent symbol KCORE_ELF
arch/i386/defconfig:177: trying to assign nonexistent symbol KCORE_AOUT
arch/i386/defconfig:355: trying to assign nonexistent symbol SCSI_SYM53C8XX
.
.
.
How can I get fix them?

I have never tried compiling with xconfig, I only use menuconfig, as I think it gives me more control and understanding with a little hand-holding along the way to get the job done. Maybe try using the menuconfig approach and see what happens otherwise someone else will have to jump in here that has experience with the xconfig setup.
