kernel for user mode linux same for host kernel?


I'm using slackware 10.2 kernel 2.4.31.
I want to try user mode linux (uml).

Should the kernel source version that the uml uses be the same with the host kernel?

i tried it and different version between guest kernel and host kernel, generally is ok.

Yeah, it doesn't matter, you can use whatever kernel you want. You might also want to look at xen.
