Keeping Multiple Projects on one nios2-linux

I'm now supporting multiple custom embedded boards with Altera FPGA designs containing NIOSII processors with uClinux. We are still using the *.ptf and vendor_hwselect SYSPTF=...

I'd really like to be able to go back and forth between my work with each board easily on one account with "nios2-linux/uClinux-dist."

I've read about "git" and think there is a way to do what I'd like but am swampped with deadlines (and don't consider myself very intelligent in this area) so am asking for help instead of exploring this myself.

Can I do what I'd like to do? Can someone help with STEP BY STEP commands or point me to a tutorial to read?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

LQ is not a help desk environment since most members are volunteers. But I will add that you can setup a 'build' structure under '/home/build' for each of your workstation(embed) environments;
Quote:
~$ mkdir build
~$ cd build
~/build$ mkdir enbed1
~/build$ mkdir embed2
~/build$ mkdir embed3
~/build$ ls
embed2 embed3 enbed1
Or
~$ mkdir build
~$ cd build
~/build$ mkdir embed1 embed2 embed3 embed4 embed5 embed6
~/build$ ls
embed2 embed3 embed4 embed5 embed6 enbed1
That way you would simply work in the desired space without worry and still able to move around the builds with no effect on other spaces. That is how I build multiple environments or work independent for each on the same station.

'KISS' rules!
