keep the /var/log/messages

In my system , the file /var/log/messages only keep two days , so I can't check the old log , how can I set to keep a specific days eg . 7 days ? thx.

logrotate should do what you need
search around for how you would configure that, and you can also of
course use :

the config file is located at :

/etc/logrotate.conf
