I am using kde 3. And it is a bit faster, but it seems much more stable and has some cool new features. If you have a digital camera, you can "browse" to the stored images, simply by typing "camera:/" in konqueror. Konqueror web browser is much better. I have not yet been to a page that it will not render (there were many pages I could not see in 2.2.2).
There are some cool new themes, and styles.
All in all I would highly recomend it.
i have heard from a few users of KDE 3 that it is better, faster, more staber and got new themes
so i think it deserve that i d/l it anyone
althoug i am using dial up modem
with a slow conection
but i/ll d/l it anyway
cos it is FREEEEEEEEEEEEE
cos i am still d/l them
remember i am using a dial up modem
it means that i d/l the 1 mega in 4 min minimum
so wait for a fw days till i can install it
KDE 3 is very nice. I think the main problems people are having are due to dodgy packages, not KDE itself because I compiled from source (no Debian packages available yet), and everything is working beautifully.
safrout: you *must* have arts, kdelibs, kdebase and qt-copy. The other packages are optional, but you probably want to grab one of the kde-i18n packages unless US English is your native language (even I get the en_GB package because I can't stand all the incorrect spellings )
The other packages are pretty self-explanatory - e.g. you'll need kdenetwork if you want kmail, knode and kppp etc.
