Joining (linking) two lines

Hi Forum;

What is the command that I can use it while I am editing the file to link the below line with the previous line, in other words: what is the command to make for example line 3 and line 2 both in one line (that is line 2)?

Any help?
Regards
Bilal

Put the cursor on line 2 and type j. If you're not using vi, this might not work.

or put the cursor at the end of the line and hit delete--or at the beginning of the following line and hit backspace....etc.
