I m facing some problem in my DHCP server from last 1 week,
Problem is little bit tricky as ,

Problem :

When a client computer boots up , comp dosen't get any IP from the DHCP server , when check the client computer i found there is error on the client comp as "Limited Connectivity".

Solution :

We need to release the DHCP lease file using the scrips

1)As soon as we free some ip address from the lease file it starts working fine.

2)And second thing we need to restart the dhcpd service , After that client getting IP address

So please can 1 help me regd the issue

Your best bet shrink your lease time:

default-lease-time:
max-lease-time:

shrink each to a few minutes it will increase the amount of chattiness on the network but if you only have a very small set of IPs available there may not really be much you can do about it. these settings will do for you what you are doing by hand right now.
