Is installing LDAP for Geeks, and not for Novices with LINUX?
Hello,
I came around LDAP during years, and never managed to install it well.
A cross the development of http://olivier.sessink.nl/directoryassistant/
that an amazing initiative. I would like to thank him really much to make easy similar LDAP, so important nowadays, over linux.
The main open question that would be risen coming across this is as follows:
Is installing LDAP for Geeks, and not for Novices with LINUX?
Installing openldap is not hard but a novice would probably struggle. You need to understand what ldap is and how it works too though, merely installing it is missing the majority of the work.

Are we still categorizing you as a novice?
All is relative. People have more time for some things, depending on the period of their life. It is always up and down. Learning linux is a long procedure. It is so broad so many packages, fields, ... programming has also an endless depth. To reply, I am not a novice with linux, no, surely. For some things I am good or other I am novice ; it depends on the linux field. I havent much energy or time any more to learn more about linux. Ldap would be nice to have it fully working, but I wont take the opportunity to go further with it. Maybe in some years, how knows. There are lot of persons after retirement that suddenly get more passionated or addicted to linux, and discover a new passion or energy to learn, use, and develop. Who really knows... I am sure you too, you still do not know everything about linux, and wish to know more. It is a passionating adventure learning and using Linux, isnt it? - we have to admit, that the birth of this operating system linux by linus was a great thing ever.
