Internet connection dying

after much trouble (and no help from LQ) I did get my cable modem to work on fedora
Its working fine but I am facing a problem that after some time, lets say about 20-30 minutes the connection just dies out ...

Than I remove and re-plug the modem power cable and after a while the connection starts working again ( I guess the replugging just resets the modem )

I wonder why is this happening and how to avoid this ? modem works fine in windows and nothing like this happens there

OK, the issue is not that simple. First of all we do not know the model and make of your model. Some modems offer many functionality such as automatic retry once the connection is lost. Sometimes the connection is lost due to line problem and/or problems in ISP side. It would be easier if you list the detail of the hardware. But before that, check if the modem has this feature or not.

Actually there are a lot other things we can try to determine the issue. But let's see if the aforementioned point work for you or not...
