Where do you want to input them to? An xterm? An emacs buffer?

I write chinese text in Emacs. Type C-h, h in emacs to see if it's enabled. If not you'll have to get the emacs-leim package.

If it is enabled do:

M-x set-language-environment
select Chinese-GB
M-x set-input-method
select chinese-py-punct

Start typing. Characters are input using the standard pin-yin transliteration of Chinese.

Hope That Helps,

-R

That is very cool using Emacs to input chinese characters, how about input in GTK or GNOME application, e.g. in a Mozilla browser? or a gEdit window?
