I have two iconv executables after installing GNU libiconv, also two of iconv.h. Crux Linux can't find any of them so I can't update glib. I have LD_LIBRARY_PATH including /usr/local/lib where libiconv is but no use.
I'd assume crux needs the headers to compile glib, not the executables?
I don't use crux - how does that work, updating glib?
What is the other iconv you have installed and why?
LD_LIBRARY_PATH is used to specify location of libraries (.so files).
I do not really know what are you trying to do, but a .h file is usually used by makefiles or other build processes and you need to add a -I <directory> flag to specify its location and pass it to the compiler (usually that is CFLAGS).
When I say Crux can't find libiconv I mean Crux package manager (prt-get) fails to update glib (for example), citing ld error "missing libiconv". Prt-get builds in a sandbox and updates/installs if successful.
