I've read the icewm homepage and I can understand about 10% of what is written there and it was a miracle I got icewm up and running in the first place.
What I want to know is how do I install a theme?
There seems to be no instructions on the site .I downloaded a xxx.tar.gz file and don't know what to do with it.
Can someone who has done this give me some pointers?
I love IceWM dearly, but will admit that it's frustratingly poorly documented.
When you uncompress the theme you downloaded you should get a directory full of files. Just move that directory into
~/.icewm/themes/
And it (and possibly some variants of it) should show up in the Themes menu as soon as you restart Ice.
If you have an older version of Ice, you'll have to then edit the ~/.icewm/preferences file to change your default theme.
Okay, thanks. I don't get along with fonts well, myself. This is one of these issues where I have no idea what to do because everything seems *right* except the wm just won't *use* the fonts. It's not even so much the fonts, themselves, as one of those 'principle of the thing' deals. So I try to make it work like it ought to and get my @$$ kicked and suddenly it *is* important.
