hp-alarm-mgr

can any one tell me what hp-alarm-mgr is

783/tcp open hp-alarm-mgr

I only seem to find post on how to stop it.

tomato..I had a similar query. check the thread "tcp port 783" .got some info but still don't know what hp-alarm-mgr does....let us know if u find ab't it...

this is what I found...spamassasin ,(spamd daemon) is listening on tcp/783...shutting down spamd should close 783 I guess...the hp-alatm-mgr thing may be linked to the assassin thing!
