I don't really have a question, but I figured this would be a good place to offer my work.
I have set up a Wiki for technical howtos.
The idea is to have a community based howto set for users to update and create as needed.

Good idea - Hope it catches on! I find your thoughts on howtos being too static quite accurate and I believe that maintaining technical info yourself while caught up in some major project that really needs your resources elsewhere can be a pain so why not let the community pitch in if there are people out there capable of doing so?
