I have windows 7 and ubuntu 11.10 on my system.i now want to remove ubuntu 11.10 and install 10.10 on my system?
what is the safest procedure to do this so that my system is not affected in any way??
just install over the top of it, there's no need to remove it first if you're replacing it with another distro which will be able to sort out your boot loader automatically like Ubuntu will.
That you have used Wubi to install it is an essential information that should have been part of your first post. A Wubi installation differs totally from the "normal" way of installation (Linux on its own partition). So yes, you should use the uninstall feature of the Wubi installer. Sometimes there seem to be some problems with that, so keep a Windows 7 DVD at hand, so that in case of failure you can repair the bootloader for Windows.
