Hi,

Most newer Gnu/Linux install media does have 'memtest86+' to test the RAM.

I do keep different copies for several Gnu/Linux diagnostic LiveCD for testing client machines. Most have good diagnostic suites for subsystem testing. Sometime you will need manufacture's diagnostic sets to test, exercise their device to insure for proper operation(s).
