How to set up a mirror site?

I'm prepared setting up a mirror site of the Live site hosted on Godaddy. The local server is running Linux OS and LAMP. I'm now searching for instruction/steps on its setup and found follows;

Did you miss from what set, the whole web?

By the way, a mirror site is nothing but a basic copy-paste of the live site.
If you have two web servers on different domains, with each web root located in /var/www, you would just need to copy-paste the contents of such folder across the servers.

Hi,

Thanks for your advice.

I have a local site running on my server which is a copy of the Live site on Godaddy. It runs exactly as the latter. What I'm trying to do are;

1) Any change on the Live site a duplication will be made automatically on the local site.
2) If the local server is running (it is not running round the clock) users will browse the local site NOT the Live site. If the local server is NOT on, users will browse the Live site on Godaddy

Any advice OR pointer would be appreciated?

Rgds
