how to make my mail server to get messges from other ppl on the internet (me@mybox)

Howdy ppl ,...
i wish to allow my postfix to recive emails from the internet (i mean someone be able to send a msg to user@mybox.domanin.perfix).
i know that i can make it on a small network but what about the internet i understand that i need to obtain a domain .
so here is the prob i wish to get some domain for free but still be able to open as many emails i wish and run what ever i want on my box.
i donnt care if i even get an me@mybox.somecompony.somemorestuff i just need to be able too use it.
also can i mail to an ip and not to an dns ? i mean me@IP

You could use dyndns or similar to setup a free domain which would point at your box. All e-mail sent then hits your machine, allowing your mail server to process it and deliver it to the correct local mailbox. Works fine, and I think there's a tutorial about this kinda thing on this site.

No problem, you might also want to have a read though something like this http://www.linuxhomenetworking.com/l...n/sendmail.htm if you can't find anything in the tutorials section on here. Have fun!
