How to encode mp3 files
I have Fedora Core 6 and use KDE.
I have used Sound Juicer, KAudioCreator and Grip to rip music files from CD's. Sound Juicer doesn't offer a choice of encoders. It encodes .ogg.
KAudioCreator has a list that has: OggEnc, Lame, Leave as wav file and FLAC. But if you choose Lame it doesn't encode and you get an error message that says: The selected encoder was not found.
Obviously Lame is not installed and integrated.
Grip has an even bigger list of encoders. Most of which don't work. Including lame.
Also, in a program called SoundConverter you can convert music files to several formats. Mp3 is there but it's greyed out. Unavailable.
Can somebody please tell me how to get mp3 encoding/converting capability in these programs. If I have to download any files, (including lame), where do I go/how do I do it? After I've downloaded, what do I do? Does any integration need to be done and how do I do it?
Thanks,
royeo
