how to change the system date during shutdown or reboot.

For some reason i want to do the following :

When i shutdown or reboot my linux machine, i want the system clock to be set automatically at a default date e.g. 15 May 2007.

Again, when i boot my linux system i want the date to be corrected automatically (via internet maybe? i dont know...).

I run Ubuntu 7.04.

Any suggestions?

Install ntpdate. It checks an online time/date site. Once you have it up and running, you will never have to set the time or date again. It even got the switch to DST.
