Does the "make uninstall" command only do what the people who created the software tell it to do, or does it automatically (e.g. based on the files created/modified when "make install" was run) delete all files it added, restore all files it modified, etc?
Well, make install does what it implies: install the binary file(s) you just made. If you need to clean up the folder, you have to run make clean (or make distclean) afterwards.
