how do i mount CDroms and Floppy as root?


Everytime i try to use a floppy i get "cant mount, only root can mount floppy" How do I mount a floppy or cd as a user?

Mounting is something that can only be done by root. Otherwise, theoretically on a multi-user system (from which Linux is derived), one user would be able to umount a disk and cause havoc throughout the system.

You can either su to mount or you can build user mount capabilities into your /etc/fstab file.

Cool, Thanks for the link. Also how can i mount the Floppy or CDrom as a user in the GUI, like KDE? Thanks again.
Nevermind, I just figured it out in Slack, theres a Superuser menu option. Thanks
