ok for example. if i want to delete something in windows. i would drag the file to the trash can. or remove it form the add remove programs. here. i have to either be logged in as root. or i have to go to the terminal and thentype in a code and then delet all its a directories and whatever...or somehting blah blah etc.

So right-click -> delete and the trash can doesn't exist in Freespire's file manager? If I am not mistaken, Konqueror is the default file manager, way more feature packed than Explorer, I haven't used it in years but I am pretty sure there is a delete function.

Now you do have to be root to add or remove programs, but if Windows was properly and securely configured, you would have to be Administrator to add or remove programs. Becoming root in Linux is as simple as entering a password.

there should be a trash icon on the desktop

there was a trash icon . but if i dragged something there it said i didnt have permission to do that. so i would have to open a termianl and delete everything manualy . but whatever i changed to ubuntu and its simpler now.
