How 2 change from Gnome Login to KDE login

Hi..

I want to set my login window to the KDE version again coz when I reinstalled, I now have Gnome's Login Manager up. I hate it. too few options. How do I reset/change it to show the nice KDE one?

I'm a newbie to configuring Linux, but a craftsman at web admin...

No, no.. I have KDE but the KDE login manager or what ever it's called does not load. Instead, the Gnome login page comes up

I think he wants to know how to change the default login manager to kdm rather then the gnome one.

I have no idea how to do this, but am sure most of the people on the forum will be able to help you.

Maybe try this:

goto etc/X11/xinitrc

then edit the xinitrc, and add this:

kdm

at the bottom where it says Start the window manager, and should load the KDE manager. Don't forget to remove the reference to the gnome manager though.

from the command line type " startkde"

or go and edit your .xinitrc file to have kde start.

Now, mind you, I'm a newbie, but at the command prompt in RedHat, you can type "switchdesk". That switches which desktop comes up when I execute "startx", right after booting up.
Hope that helps.

Say, what's all this I hear about Guinness falling on hard times because more Irish are drinking American swill like Coors Light? I couldn't believe it.

Guinness

Hey, unfortunately that's VERY true. Ireland's youth of today, from ages of 14-28+ are drinking more contenantal drinks, but we can't forget about our Bulmers Cider and Bailey's Irish Cream! Hmmm.. I'm 17 myself, and am amazed at how Guinness became so successful. It's a rotten drink, for the maturist of taste buds (or dead taste buds for that matter!).

Anyway, that's true, but the most disgusting and most american decision the company have ever though of was to introduce the "Quick Pint" which can be poured in 30 seconds. ARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHH!!!! Your average pint takes 4 minutes to settle with the finishing head added after. What the hell are the irish giant going to do next?!

Quite agree: a good pint, especially stout, requires skill and patience. Just like learning linux.
