That's great. Before we update the Dropbox repository, do you still use Dropbox on your machine? Also, for info, I don't think you're going to have call for Pipelight, which was one of the other repositories, as browsers have moved on from the particular plugins it supported.
Dropbox - the thing people use to share photos and stuff? If so, I haven't used it for some time, but maybe I should update it because other people post links to things that they have posted in Dropbox.
Yes, that's the one - it's used for sharing and storing files. Mostly you don't actually need Dropbox if it's only other people's files that you're downloading - the person in question should normally provide a link to allow you to download the file(s) using your browser. But in case you want to store/share your own files, we'll install the latest version.
Go to here - https://www.dropbox.com/install-linux - and download the 32-bit version of Dropbox (note that you appear to be running a 32-bit system so you will have to find 32-bit versions of software in the future if they aren't in the software repositories).
When the download has finished, find the downloaded file using your file manager (the file should be in Downloads) and double click it to install it. The installer will then lead you through the process. If you have any questions, let us know.

So is this because my laptop is pretty old and most people run 64-bit now so they stop providing 32-bit? Just trying to understand why the 32-bit versions wouldn't be in the repositories.
Also, my red circle with the white line through it that was at the top of my screen is gone now.
Yes, 32-bit systems are largely replaced by 64-bit systems nowadays.
What I meant to say is that when you are installing software from the Ubuntu repositories you don't need to worry about the software being 32-bit (as long as Ubuntu keeps supporting 32-bit) because your system takes care of that for you by requesting the right packages for your system. If, on the other hand, you need to download additional software that isn't in the repositories then you're going to need to ensure that you download and install the 32-bit versions of such software, not the 64-bit versions. I hope that this makes sense.
Well, I think that's your issue solved! If you want, you can mark it so using the Thread Tools at the top of the menu. Do feel free to ask here on LQ if you need any more help.
Thank you so much for all your time and help. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate it. And, thanks for clarifying about the software repositories. I sent you a friend request also, since it seems you might be a good resource, although certainly I can post in this forum again too. I bookmarked it for the future.

Again, thank you.
My pleasure. Until you become more knowledgeable about Linux, you might want to post any questions/issues that you have in the Newbies subforum (https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...inux-newbie-8/) - your thread will probably receive more attention there.
