HELP! Error msg "Authentication Failure"

I can't seem to log into my Suse 9.3 box, on the local desktop I get a "Athentication Failure" message with a ok prompt, and as soon as I click it it comes back, they keyboard does not respond at the login. If I do a Ctrl-Alt-Backspace and reload X it comes back to the same spot, If I try to log into the console I get invalid login for any username, VNC desktop gets the same error prompt and SSH just closes.

Any Ideas?
Do you think the auto repair would help at all?

So no user can login from either the graphical login manager or the console? What did you before this occured - were you changing anything with PAM to configure something like Samba? Also, are you authenticating just on your machine, or against a network server?

Acually I was playing around with the NVTV settings, I restarted when I messed up, and thats where I ended up.
I am not authenticating to a server it just a local login.

I am just going to re-install, I got all my stuff off.
