Help!!!!!!

I accidently changed permisions on my xfree86 file and i have no idea how...how would i change the permisions on that file without the GUI....?

use the command chmod

look at the man page for it and it explains it all. But a quick overview is:

chmod a+w : Give <a>ll users writing capability

chmod u+r : Give <u>ser who owns the file read ability
