Question HD question

I'm dual booting Red Hat 9 and Win XP on a 40 gigs HD.

My root partition is 7.5 gigs, but when i check it in system monitor, linux only shows 7.3 gigs.. is this normal??

My swap partition is 510 Mb.

My boot partition is 100 Mb.

and is my root partition enough or should i make it bigger??

There is space reserved for the superuser (5% normally). That's why you do not see full 7.5 GB!

its more than enoug in my installation all the software dev tool and multimedia tool only covers 1.3 gigs of space
