Hardware updates and reconfiguration

Hello all,

Is it necessary to update any files or configurations when I add more memory to my linux system. I'm using RH7.3.

Thanks.

That depends. Sometimes your /etc/lilo.conf (or grub.conf) will explicitely tell Linux how much mem you have. If it doesn't, then you should be OK simply whacking it in. Post the contents of the file, and I'll check over it for you.
