Grub loader messed up

Hi,

Recently i installed SuSe 9.2 linux on a dualboot. The linux was installed on the slave drive, with windows XP professional on the master drive.
I have since formatted the slave drive, getting rid of linux, converting it back to NFTS to use for windows. However, apon booting my computer today, i was presented with:

I now cannot load windows, i'm a beginner at this and i really need this computer up and running properly. Can anyone tell me how to boot windows from grub without having to format my master and starting all over again? (i have masses of files i cannot lose on this computer)

Try this:

Quote:

1. Insert CD 1 of you linux disc

2. Type linux rescue

3. Type chroot /mnt/sysimage

4. Type /sbin/grub-install /dev/hda (if your partitions changed you have to edit /boot/grub/grub.conf)

5. Reboot

This will reinstall grub so you can boot to windows.

Another option:

Quote:

1. Boot up with your Windows XP disc.

2. Select the option Recovery Console.

3. At the prompt, type "fixmbr" (without the quotes of course)

4. Restart your computer.

This will install the Windows bootloader.
