GPL (initial developer)

I have a few question on GPL :

1. As an initial developer, can I distribute my software under GPL and other license at the same time ?

2. Can an inital develper distribute subsequent version of the same program using other license ? I guess it's not possible as future versions means modification of original work.

Yes, you can use multiply licences, there are several examples for this (openoffice, mahogany, blender, etc).

And as the copyright owner you can also change the license of the future versions. There were also lot of examples to release under stronger or lighter license. However if others contributed work to your code and you accepted then you need their permission as well.
