Gnome WM settings woes
Hi all.
I'm currently out at sea on a job, again, and they guys out here are having a slight problem with their linux system.
They are running RedHat on some Dell systems.
It's all proprietary stuff, so plz dont ask for specific specs.
Anywho, the problem is this:
They have a program that they launch in gnome.
When it starts up, it loads about 30 different application windows.
Now, the real problem is, whenever they have to reboot the system, and re-start the program, gnome will never remember the settins of the individual windows.
(i.e. size, location, desktop, stack layer)
It's quite time consuming to have to re-arrange all those windows after a reboot, especially when you don't have the time to do it. (long story)
Anywho, anyone got any ideas on how to get gnome to be able to remember these very basic window settings? I know it's possible.
I'm thinking about switching them to enlightenment as it's a helluva lot faster, and you can easily configure remembering settings via the individual window titlebars or desktop rtclk.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Tnx.
