Running SuSE 7.1, I was in a Gnome session, and looking at the various themes available for the desktop. After viewing several, an error message popped up stating "Gnome theme manager capplet has crashed-error XXXX-segmentation fault".

I closed the theme manager program. Now when I attempt to open the program, it gives the same error message. The XXXX represents some numbers, which are never the same. However, the "segmentation" argument is always there.

Does anyone have any idea what happened, and what I should do to repair it?

My gnome-theme-manager is crashing too, I am running gentoo with gnome version 2.2.1...

I have got the solution with my problem.I don't know your reason led to the problem.my problem is:
I want to add a new theme of gnome.but when i add it,the theme manger crashed and can't run any more.Later i enter ~/.theme/and delete the theme directory that cause the crash and the manager work again.i see that there is a file named index.theme in the problem theme directory. i try to delete it(index.theme),and it works every thing goes well..
