Gnome Panel Won't save the background color.
I am running Redhat Linux 9 on a Dell laptop with an Nvidea GEForce 4 graphics card, and using Gnome as the desktop manager. I tried to customize the main Gnome panel by changing the background color. The color changes, but when I log out and log back in, the color is always set to black. I tried setting the check box to save the current settings when logging out, but that didn't help. Other customization changes to the panel are preserved from session to session, but the background color always reverts to black. Not a big deal, but just wondering what might be causing the problem. Same thing happens in the root account, so I don't think it has anything to do with file protection settings.
