Getting el cheapo USB VoIP phone to work with (non-Skype) Linux

Just got said toy USB phone via Ebay. Says it works with Skype - it has the software to prove it - and such others as MSN, Yahoo, etc. but with no software. I have emailed the Ebay guy but don't expect much from him.

In the Windows installation, the only config file is an .ini file with no SIP or other categories. Skype's Linux install the device's audio works but not its keys!

Is there a route into this device to improve its functionality??

i have a usrobotics 9601 (Yealink P8D) which I've got the audio working, but not the lcd or keys working. Is this the phone or something else?

Very classy, my man! Mine doesn't even have an LCD, just a black plastic screen-bit to make you think it has!

Getting the keys recognised is a mutual problem, then...
