(Foolish linux user deletes block device)

Okay, I tend to let loose on the command line a little too carelessly. I just installed Slack 9.1 and I'm trying to add my dvd-rom drive as /dev/cdrom2 and also as /dev/dvd. Things got messy with the sym-links and when I tried to mount it, it said too many levels of symbolic links. When doing a "file /dev/hdd" I think it said it was a broken link to /dev/cdrom2. Then somewhere along the line I managed to delete /dev/hdd - possibly with unlink. How can I get it back?

also this might be helpful
Quote:
mknod hdd b 22 64
mknod hdd1 b 22 65
mknod hdd2 b 22 66
mknod hdd3 b 22 67
mknod hdd4 b 22 68
this shows the major and minor numbers ....
lot easier for ya instead of looking through /usr/src/linux/Documentation/devices.txt
