Folder created by unkown programme

I have a problem that each time in my home dir there would have folders

Download Desktop

to be created by unkown programme. And thoday some new folders named Documents, Music, Public, Video are created as well. I guess it is created by either firefox or nautilus.

Is there any chance that I can check which program create those folders? If so, how can I check which programs were trying to create those dir?

Thanks for help.

Hmmm...are you saying they weren't there and then just showed up one day? What distro are you using? In most distros those folders are present by default. Did you do a distro upgrade?

After seraching on the google again, it looks like it is because of the nautilus, which will create folder e.g. Desktop under the $HOME. I've change to use xfe so that nautilus will not create those folders again.

Thanks for the help.
