Hey all. Recently posted about video problems with framebuffer, however I don't care about fb support anymore. Configured 2.4.20 kernel and everything worked fine. Was running on vesa video driver (reformat) so I downloaded the nvidia driver for my geforce2 go. Installed and edited config file and everything worked fine.

Now to the problem.. I boot into console and manually startx from there. Whenever I logout of X and drop back to the console, my screen is flickering like crazy. It's like watching an old black and white movie!

Has anyone had any trouble with the NVIDIA drivers flickering their screen?

Hardware specs: P4 1.6 - 256 DDR - Geforce2 Go (laptop) - 2.4.20 Kernel

I have had this problem, on an ATI Mobility chip, with my laptop pannel. I found out if i close my lid and reopen it, everything is fine. Just like restarting the lcd.

I had a similar problem once when my refresh rate was too high for my monitor (100 Hz). I burned out my monitor this way and bought a much better one (Sony Trinitron).
