File is Lost

I found that some directories in /tmp will be lost in a certain of time ( about 2 weeks ) but I sure that there is no cron job to remove the directory in current cron job , is there any system default job do it ? thx

It might be in your startup scripts - I have stuff in my startup scripts (Slackware) that removes: /var/lock/* /var/spool/uucp/LCK..* /tmp/.X*lock /tmp/core /core /tmp/hunt*

/tmp as you may be able to figure out is for temporary storage. That can be changed but it's just not natural. You'd be better off finding somewhere else to put your files, /var/tmp would probably be a better solution.
