I did post most of the following on Fedora's forum, but got no replies.
I've been using Mint and Windows for some time and decided to ditch Windows and load another Linux. I hadn't used Fedora in years. Anyways I Cleaned off my hard drive (Dell Inspiron 15-5578) and loaded Fedora 31 Mate first then did the updates and all was fine. I then loaded Mint and after the install tried Fedora again and all was fine. So I did some restoring stuff into Mint then figured I'd play with Fedora but it wouln't boot. It hangs in a couple of places. Here is the last line of one boot:
3.5174621 hid-generic 001F:8037:0AC4.0005: HIDRAW4: <UNKNOWN> HID v2.00 Device [hid-ishtp 8087:0AC4] on
Here is another attempt: "(ok) Started Open-iSCSi". I think that last part is right (hard to see) I just hand copied it.
I can boot the Fedora iso USB without a problem.
Actually if I wait a while it will contiinue and I can type in a logging word (forget it now) and it will stream off screens of code with the odd red line indicating a problem. I didn't know how to save this log. A real puzzler as it was working fine and i didn't do any monkey wrenching in Fedora.
I have also run Dell's diagnostics and the only bad part there is that my battery is down to 55% and nearing its' end.
I'm not familiar with the errors you report but one thing you could try to get more detailed information to post here is to go to the boot repair site below while booted into Mint. Read through the page and use the 2nd option explained near the top of the page to add the ppa to Mint to download and install and run it. When your run it, use the Create bootinfo Summary option and do not try to make any repairs. It should give you a link to post here which will have detailed information on your system and boot files which is lacking in your post.
I gave uo and re-installed both Fedora and Mint. It is possibele I screwed up the fstab. Anyways back up. Thanks for the reply.
What may have happened was when I was following a tutorial on 10 things to do after installing Mint Mate and I was doing some changes to improve ssd life span. One of those tips was to put "noatime" into the fstab. Mint carried on OK but Fedora wouldn't boot. I then went in and intended to put fstab back to default. I must have screwed that up as nothing would boot then. I have now copied fstab to fstab.bak if it happens again.
Gave up on Fedora after my fourth install and it's refueing to boot for no reason I can see, Anyways solong F am going to try something else to play with; maybe Mandriva.
