Fat 32 file size limit

I hate Fat32.

I can't even copy an image of my Mandriva 2006 DVD onto my Fat32 drive for my windows partition to use it to burn.

Is there another filesystem that has a higher file size limit and will be visible to both Linux and Windows? Unfortunately I still need windows to use a proprietary program for work and to print (shouldn't have bought that stupid Lexmark all in one).

grr...

NTFS is writable by Linux (fairly experimental, but should be ok - ymmv) and there are programs to allow Windows to read/write to Linux depending on your Linux filesystem.

I'm not confident in the abilities of linux to write to a NTFS partition without corrupting it. I don't want to lose all my data if something craps out.

Which filesystem do you have on Linux? (Ext2/3/ReiserFS, etc), there is probably a program that will work the other way - read/write from Windows to Linux.

i use ext3FS, but want to convert to ReiserFS next time I install(my new AMD X2 is on it's way!)

I have a program explore2fs that will read from my partitions, but I don't like it.

Hmm... I guess i'll have to stay with the status quo right now.
