failed to load image switchdesk.png file not found..??

Error:

Failed to load image switchdesk.png
Details: File not found.

I'm using RedHat 9, and it is a brand new installation.

what I was doing right before this happened.

I went in to preferences and selected having a certain user (me..since Im the only one that uses this PC) to be logged in automatically.

Then I was mucking about with the desktop...trying to create a shortcut to launch the console window. I went to system tools/terminal...then I right clicked and hit entire menu/ then "add this as drawer to panel"

I didnt like the results, so i right clicked the drawer I had created and selected "remove from panel"

I got the message the first time right after this.

right after that I went to the console and edited the inittab to change my runlevel so I could reboot without going in to X and then install my drivers for my nvidia graphics card.

I changed my runlevel again and when I booted up I got the message again. Then I went in to my XF86Config file and did a vi edit, per instructions from nvidia. Reboot.

Got message again on boot up.

I went to preferences again, and selected Themes, suspecting something to do with is, based on "switchdesk" meaning to me my desktop. Each time I select a desktop theme within the Themes menu, that error message pops up each time, confirming (at least in my mind) that my suspicion is correct.

Im sure this is an easy error to fix...any ideas?

Heading off to google will try the keyword "Themes" as well and see if i can sort something out...in the meantime, if anyone has a suggestion??

thank you in advance

IIRC it's a RedHat app for switching desktop environments. The switchdesk.png could be either a desktop icon, or an image used by the application. In any case it should be located somewhere under /usr/share. If "slocate switchdesk|grep png" doesn't show up anything, try querying the rpm package where it's sposed to be.

Cool

I had the same problem but I found an entry in:
/home/"user"/.gnome2/panel2.d/default/launchers/curly-0071dcee00.desktop

icon=switchdesk.png
I deleted switchdesk.png, problem solved.
