failed raid personality

I have hda8 and hdb1 striped in a raid array but the system keeps locking up. for some reason while its running hdb1 is failing. anyone had this experience before. i suspect it could be a heat problem but the pc is another state and im trying to troubleshoot through ssh. so i cant exactly reach out and touch the drive.

/var/log/messages. the raid part.

If you think it is heat (I do too), have someone at the site take a cpu or case fan on it. I had one that failed due to heat, all I did was just stick a cpu fan in front of it to keep it cool.
