ext3 shecking and question

I use ext3 on all of my systems, and I was reading about how it never has to be consitency checked due to the fact that it can not be messed up in that way, but my question is that I think I am getting some bad sectors on one of my drives, and I can not run fsck because that is for ext2. What should I use to check, and section off bad clocks on a production level HD. If I do have some bad blocks I plan on replacing the HD but I need to have the drive good enought to back it entirely up.

why do you think that fsck is only for ext2? it can check most linux compatible file systems.

ok I am sorry I thought it did this, but after trying it again I must have been putting the wrong switches in. Sorry for the waste of time.
