Express Card SATA controller for Linux

Hi,

I'm looking for a SATA I/II controller for my laptop and have found this product from a company who I have got a few things from in the past:

http://mediasonicinc.com/store/produ...roducts_id=119

My question is will it work under Linux/Unix as I run both OpenSolaris and Linux for desktop systems.

I know Solaris has HCLs which I can access so will do that later but for Linux basically is my primary concern....

It uses the JMicron JMB360 chipset, which I did Google and says that there is Linux kernel support for it as of version 2.6x and since I'm using quite a late version kernel I am assuming that it will work but before purchase I'd like to have some confirmation!! If that's ok?

Many thanks for any responses!!

Ok so if no one has any idea about that particular controller then someone must know of a site or mailing list that has info on these things??

Or even better what may work!

Other options I am looking at are the SONET Tempo SATA Express34:

http://www.pcwb.co.uk/catalogue/item/SONCA170 {which is a bit expensive}

Or alteratively:

StarTech.com eSATA 2 port controller:

http://www.pcwb.co.uk/catalogue/item/A0388114 {better value, much cheaper but not sure comparison in quality or why such big price differential}

If anyone has anything to suggest it would be really great as I'm soon to get something but have no clue of what... yet!!

Also since I am gona buy from one of those webstores a whole bunch of other stuff it just makes my life easier to get from one place but in real terms it doesn't actually matter!!

Many thanks for any responses :-)
