Error during DNF Update on CENTOS 8 Stream VM

I'm running CENTOS 8 Stream as a VM under a host of CENTOS 8. I'm able to successfully create the CENTOS 8 Stream VM, however, when I execute an 'sudo dnf update' I get the following message at the end of the download of the packages:

file /usr/lib64/libbpf.so.0 from install of libbpf-0.0.4-4.el8.x86_64 conflicts with file from package bcc-0.8.0-4.el8.x86_64

I've tried the reload and also researched the issue with no resolution so far. Can someone provide input to a solution.

Thanks

No much to go on other than there being a conflict with the package. Are you able to post the output of the full error message if any?

Try the following as a workaround for now I guess?

This should work for now:

Code:
dnf update --exclude=libbpf --exclude=bcc --exclude=perf --skip-broken

bcc is from the standard CentOS AppStream repo, but where have you got libbpf from? What does rpm -qi libbpf show?

I haven't used CentOS in years (so no Stream obviously), but maybe the first point here ?.

Seems there is a recent new BCC (0.11.0-2.el8): https://koji.mbox.centos.org/koji/bu...o?buildID=6808

Running the yum update again today completes successfully for me.

Gotta say I'm impressed it's even in included in CentOS - I had to get Fedora Rawhide to change some kernel options as new features were released so I could test it. Eventually made its way into the normal Fedora.
