Yep. AOL and Hotmail (among others) are trying to combat spam by blocking mail originating from dial-up pools and dynamic IP pools on broadband connections. Your best bet is to use an upstream 'smarthost' smtp server like the one provided to you by your ISP.
You can thank all the black hearted spammers for measures like this and more that will be coming down the pipe.
If att is your isp and that's the connection you're using then ya-huh, that would be the case. Essentially you'll be using the smtp server your ISP provided when you signed up. You can still use your server for inbound mail without any problems, provided that your ISP allows that type of thing.
Ok, I just did a search on upstream smarthost configuration for postfix and didnt find much. Any help with the main.cf file is appreciated...thanks for your reply.
