here is the error info

currently i compiled a new kernel 2.6.18-gentoo
i cannot start X server...
my oldder one works well....with same options in kernel..
my graghic card is GF7600GT ....seems i dont need load module "wfb"

did you install the correct driver for this? and have stable/updated X?
i have read on a gentoo forum that people that have installed it didnt install the other nvidia packages that are needed, sorry i dont remember what they were called. also ive never used gentoo so i dont know how it works. but in your 'package manager' search for anything wfb and nvidia and install it. if you did it the 'gentoo way' and not from nvidia website try that way instead.
i got some results on google.com/linux and yahoo.com for your keywords but as i said im not in your shoes so i couldnt make sense of it--give it a shot.
hope someone can help.
